Today is just a sample of one of the various snippets of stories that pop into my head at random. I wrote this upon waking the other morning. I think it could be a larger story, but I kind of like it as a slice of micro-fiction.
The girl that walked into the sea haunted the little town. Though none that bore her name had lived in the town for generations, she still existed. Stuck there on the beach. People talked about her. They speculated, spun tales about what could drive a girl to walk calmly into the sea on a warm summer evening, never to return. The truth of the matter was that no one knew, not even those who had loved her. And though years and years had passed, her legacy remained; tainting the beach, and the little town that sat upon its shores.
